William E Scruggs

Mr. William Earl Scruggs, age 80 of Castleberry passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 in a Mobile hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 9th at the Victory Christian Center in Castleberry. Rev. Andy Peavy and Pastor Jim Scruggs and Greg Scuggs will officiate. Interment will follow in Buffington Cemetery in Castleberry with Cope-Keahey Funeral Home directing.  

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dakota Gravitt, Thomas Rhodes, Rodney Scruggs, Jay Scruggs, Jonathan Scruggs and Sam Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Vaughn White, Raymond Salter, L.T. Powell, Bill Johnson, and Raymond Salter.

Survivors include, his loving wife of 56 years, Alice Brown Scuggs of Castleberry;

Sons, Jim (Amy) Scruggs of Summerdale;

Greg (Tabatha) Scruggs of Evergreen;

Brothers, David Scruggs of Pensacola; Tim (Tracy) Scruggs of Athens, Texas; sisters, Catherine Johnson of Monroeville; Frances (Calvin) Brown of Laurel, Mississippi; 7 grandchildren, Mallory, Jay, Jonathan, Amber, Dakota, Rodney and Alice.

Mr. Scruggs was preceded in death by his parents, James Carl and Annie Mae Scruggs, Brothers, Carl Scruggs Jr., and Thomas Edward Scruggs, and Sister, Deloris Scruggs Johnson.
