Mr. Narvie Ray Tolbert, age 69 of Evergreen passed away Sunday, May 29, 2017 in Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia.


Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Cope-Keahey Chapel. Rev. John Finkle will officiate. Burial will follow in the Old Town Cemetery with Cope-Keahey Funeral Home directing.The family will receive friends at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home one hour prior to services on Wednesday.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions maybe made to Sepulga Baptist Church. Attn: Sharon 13465 Brooklyn Road Evergreen, Al 36401


Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Connie Tolbert of Evergreen; sons, Christopher (Lakresha) Tolbert of Evergreen; Robert Edward (Christy Wright) Tolbert of Ellijay, Georgia; daughter, Kimberly Tolbert (West) Harris of Acworth, Georgia; brother, Lavon Tolbert of Monroe county; sisters, Joyce Tolbert of Tennessee; Diane Tolbert of Huntsville; grandchildren, Christian Tolbert, Destiny Tolbert, Ayden Tolbert, Cayden Harris, Landon Tolbert, Faith Tolbert Harris, Hannah Wright-Tolbert, David Losito.

Mr. Tolbert was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church and had served as a Deacon. In his later years, he started attending Sepulga Baptist Church but grew up in Old Town Church and volunteered with the Old Town cemetery committee and the volunteer fire department in the Herbert community. He was always very involved in his children’s youth activities, having been a Boy Scout leader, FFA and 4-H volunteer leader and he worked with the youth choir at Evergreen Baptist Church. He was always very active in his community helping those in need, cutting grass for the elderly or checking in on those who couldn’t do for themselves.
