WILLIBE ALBERT CRUTCHFIELD
Willibe Albert Crutchfield, age 84, of Evergreen, died Monday, November 21, 2022 in a Mobile Hospital after a brief illness.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Crutchfield; mother, Stella Crutchfield; wife, Agnes Crutchfield, two sons, Greg Crutchfield and Wade Crutchfield.
He retired after 44 years with Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society. He volunteered as the public address announcer for Evergreen High School and Hillcrest for 41 years. He served on the Conecuh County School Board, the Conecuh County Merit Board, the FSA Board and with the Range Volunteer Fire Department. He had a love of music and played with many bands throughout his life. He sang with the Gospel Melodies with Cathie Garner and Lou Coleman until his health failed. He was a 32 degree Mason serving with Downing Lodge 580 in Castleberry and recently received his 50 year Membership Pin. He was a member of London Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Robert Knowles and pastor Wayne McMillan officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Cope-Keahey Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include one son, Mitch (Doug) Crutchfield, Atmore; one daughter-in-law, Debbie Crutchfield, Evergreen; two granddaughters, Jamie Murphy, Evergreen and Julie (Brian) Freeman, Hoover; two great grandchildren, James Dalton Murphy and Abbigail Murphy, both of Evergreen; and one God daughter, Claire Fendley, Evergreen.
