Wayne Carrier Obituary

Wayne Snead Carrier

September 25, 1940 – March 7, 2026

Wayne Snead Carrier, a devoted husband of 42 years, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 7, 2025. Born on September 25, 1940, in Evergreen, Alabama, Wayne was the son of Clarence Edward Carrier Sr. and Nealie Snead Carrier.

He graduated from Evergreen High School in 1958 and later attended the University of Montevallo.

A man of deep and steadfast faith, Wayne was an active member of Evergreen Baptist Church and later Olive Branch Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a deacon in both congregations. His life was a testament to his commitment to Christ, and he was known as a pillar of strength, humility, and kindness within both his church family and his home.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Glenda Janaine Carrier; his son, Scott Salter; his daughter, Pam Wright; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Edward Carrier Sr. and Nealie Snead Carrier; his brothers, Walter Carrier and Clarence Carrier; and his sisters, Edith Carrier Hayes, Willa Carrier Driver, and Betty Carrier Booker.

His service will be officiated by Pastor Herbert Brown on Tuesday, March 10 at 11am at Olive Branch Baptist Church with the family receiving visitors one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made in Wayne's memory to The Olive Branch Baptist Church.

2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
