Mr. Therrel Gene Ballinger, of Evergreen passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at his residence. He was 90.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 am., Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Brownville Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Greg Hart and Greg Scruggs will be officiating. Cope-Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his, son, Thomas (Karen) Ballinger of Pascagoula, MS, Daughters, Nina Ballinger Spiers of Mobile, AL, Sarah Legg of Evergreen, AL, Elizabeth (Kirk) Barnard of Hurley, MS, Grandchildren: Jennifer (Kenneth) Buley, Joel Spiers, Joseph (Linda) Spiers, Janean Ballinger, Rebekah Baker, Lillie Pipkin, Leah (Riley) Ogborn, Andrew (Misty) Barnard, Thomas S. Ballinger, Chloe Ballinger, 21 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Grandchildren, and sister, Jeffolette Watkins, Philadelphia, MS.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Doris Ballinger, his beloved daughter, Naomi Carol Ballinger. His parents, Thomas Mose and Josephine Ballinger, and siblings: Thyra, Johnnie Ruth, QueenIna, James, Hilda, Gerald, and Coy.
Pallbearers: Joseph Spiers, Andrew Barnard, Thomas Spence Ballinger, Michel Fowler, Joshua Rogers, Christopher Rogers, and Wesley Trent Pipkin.
The family would like everyone to know how very much they appreciate the care given by Dr. Mark Roberts and Southern Care Hospice and most especially the selfless, unstinting care provided by Janean Ballinger and Rebekah Baker that allowed both parents to be cared for at home.
