Sidney Lamar Bradley Sr was born August 3, 1926 in Evergreen, Alabama, and passed away September 14, 2018 at William F. Green Veterans Nursing Home, Bay Minette, Alabama.
Lamar served in WWII as a pilot in the U S Army Air Corp and was stationed in the Philippines. Upon leaving the service, he was a pilot for Chevron Oil. But the love of his life was automobiles. Starting in 1948, He worked at Grimes Ford in Montgomery, Alabama, then Ivey Chevrolet in Evergreen, Alabama before going into business for himself. Mr. Bradley had a used car lot, then had a Rambler dealership before becoming the Dodge, Chrysler and Plymouth dealer in Evergreen. He also sold motor homes during this time as well as providing wrecker services.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Magnolia Cemetery with Rev, Bill Messer officiating.
Preceded in death were his parents, Lonnie Samuel Bradley and Mamie Hamilton Bradley.
Mr. Bradley is survived by his wife of 60 years, Johnnie Chavers Bradley, and two children, Sidney Lamar Bradley Jr (Betty Joyce), and Sharron Bradley McCreary (Fred), both of Evergreen, Alabama, 3 grandchildren, and one great grandson.
Serving as pallbearers, Bill Hamilton, Chad Chavers, Johnathon Smith, Terry Conway, Jerry Kendrick and Bob McCreary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Evergreen, Alabama or Pilots for Christ, Monroeville, Alabama.
