Mrs. Marqueeta Carrier Powell of Evergreen passed away Friday, March 13, 2020, in Mobile. She was 72.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm., Monday, March 16, 2020, at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday one hour to services at the funeral home. Rev. Neil Butler and Bro. Mark Whittington will officiate. Burial will follow in Witherington Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Colton Lambert, Michael Lambert, Robbie Moorer, Virgil Ackerman, Tim Garmon, and Tristan Robinson.

Left to cherish her memory, husband, James Powell of Evergreen; sons, John (Nicole) Powell of Evergreen, Chad Powell and fiancee’ (Laura) of Evergreen, brother, Clarence Carrier of Evergreen; sisters, Val Carrier of Birmingham and Chris Garmon of Birmingham; grandchildren, Jamee Powell, Kylar Powell, Kamren Powell, Brianna Powell, Alexandria Powell, Brian Powell, Wyatt Bailey; great-grandchild, Dakota Perdue.

Mrs. Powell was a lifelong residence of Evergreen and a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church. She was the first employee of the Conecuh County EMS; at work, she was the mother, secretary, dispatcher, and friend to all; besides work, she enjoyed crochet, cross-stitch and spending time with family and friends and especially her grandchildren.
