Mr. Lyndon Alto Padgett of Evergreen passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020. He was 72.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 27, 2020, at Cope-Keahey Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home. A dear family friend, Mr. Dennis Owens will officiate. Eulogies will be given by his three daughters, Lynn, Leslie, and Landra, and selected grandchildren. Special music provided by Blake Presley. Interment will follow in Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be William Hunter Bolton, Landon Alto Qualls, Lawson Ty Qualls, Jack Christy, James Barker, and Barry Padgett.
Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Fordham.
Left to cherish his memory, loving wife, Linda Padgett; daughters, Lynn Johnson and Leslie Bolton (Robbie) all of Evergreen; Landra Qualls (Shane) of Brewton; brother, James Padgett (Betty) of Camden; grandchildren, Brooke Barker (James); Lindsey Johnson, William Hunter Bolton, Lauryn Bolton, Courtney Bolton, Robbie Grace Bolton, Lexy Ann Qualls, Landon Alto Qualls, and Lawson Ty Qualls; one great-grandchild, Truett Barker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Ray Padgett and Ruby Faye Smith Padgett; brothers, Elbert Ray Padgett and Lougene Padgett. A lifetime resident of Evergreen,
He owned and operated a diesel mechanic company, Padgett Enterprises, and this past July he celebrated 50 years of being in business. His family described him as a “workaholic”; he worked until October 22, 2020, when he became very sick. He was the founder of the H.O.G. Pensacola Chapter, a Harley Davidson Riding Club. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and especially taking his grandchildren on trips. He will be greatly missed.
