Libby Williams, 70, of Evergreen, died peacefully in her sleep, Friday, August 1, 2025 in Gulf Shores.
Graveside services were held 2:00 pm., Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lyeffion Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Larry Johnson officiating and Cope-Keahey Funeral Home directing.
Born Mary Elizabeth Faulkner on October 1, 1954 to Homer (Buck) and Myrtie Faulker in Evergreen, she was known her entire adult life affectionately as Libby. She was the sixth of nine children born into this loving family.
She graduated from Evergreen High School in 1973. She worked for fifty years as a Dental Assistant, starting out working with Dr. Elo Jackson and concluding her career with Dr. Mike Cartwright when he closed his practice because of illness.Throughout her fifty years of work, she was loved and appreciated by her patients. Many of those patients would only let Libby work on them because of her talent and professional work, along with her kindness and understanding.
One of Libby’s greatest passions was working in her yard growing beautiful flowers and tending her plants. She also loved feeding her favorite winged friends, the hummingbirds. They brought her great joy and happiness.
After her retirement she spent her days enjoying her time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Maddie, who was her whole world and her beach partner.
Libby married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Douglas (Doug) Williams in 1974. They were happily married for 28 years until his untimely death from cancer in 1999.
Libby was preceded in death by her parents, Buck and Myrtie Faulkner, husband, Doug, one brother, Homer (Bubba) Faulkner, Jr. and one sister, Pam Faulkner Harold.
Survivors include: daughter, Monica Williams Harris (Jimmy), Auburn; granddaughter, Madison Elizabeth (Maddie) Harris, Auburn; four brothers, Gary Faulkner (Diane), Prattville, RogerFaulker (Chandra), Wetumpka, Mike Faulkner (Allison), Evergreen, and James Faulkner (Nelda), Evergreen; two sisters, Lillie Faulkner Goodwin, Evergreen and Glenda Zelnick (Jim), Corpus Christi, Texas; a host of Williams family and nieces and nephews and longtime companion of 25 years, Robert Gaston Bozeman, III.
