Katherine Russell Dantz, age 58 of Andalusia unexpectedly passed away June 12, 2025 at the Evergreen hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 17th at the Magnolia Cemetery in Evergreen. Minister Dianne Everette will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday afternoon from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Dantz’s home (28905 Sandy Landing, Andalusia). Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Andalusia Animal Shelter (101 Coliseum Ave., Andalusia, AL 36420), American Diabetes Association (P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023) or the Alzheimer's Association (P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011). Cope-Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Left to cherish her memory, loving husband, Tim Dantz; daughter, Lucy Dantz of Providence, Rhode Island; brother, William Russell (Ashley) of Boca Raton, Florida; cousin, Susan Russell Mills (Bill) of Albany, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, she was a graduate of the University of Virginia and started her career in the political consulting field, and she spent time working for the U.S. Secretary of Transportation in Washington, DC. She was a talented interior decorator, was passionate about growing and arranging flowers and loved being a wonderful homemaker.
