Juanita Grooms Obituary

Ssg Juanita Jean Grooms of Evergreen passed away April 29, 2025 at her residence. She was 70.

Juanita honorably served her country in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. She worked for the Conecuh County

Core of Engineers for 17 years and drove a school bus for 13 years at the Conecuh County School System. She enjoyed spending time tending to her animals. Riding horses and fishing as well. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am., Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home chapel. Bro. Chuck Morris will be officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cope-Keahey directing.

Survivors include, husband, John H. McAbee of Evergreen, sons, Christopher Lee Poisson (Amy) of Niangua, MO,  Mathew Hawkins (Heather) of Evergreen and Daniel Grooms (Tequylla) of Mobile,  sisters, Jodell (Billy) Smith of Monroeville, Julie (Robert) Cates of IL and Jeaneen Thopstt of Penscola, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Leah Hawkins.
