Jerry G. (Goodwin) Hart

Mrs. Jerry G. Hart passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 with her family by her side. She was 93.

Jerry affectionately named Jerdy by her grandchildren, was a graduate of Evergreen High School. She maintained a close relationship with her high school friends and enjoyed a yearly beach trip for many years with them all. She worked at Regions Bank for 20 years and upon retirement returned as the official “greeter” at the front desk. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and genuinely cared for all those who crossed her path. She loved attending sporting events that her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a part of for as long as her health allowed. She was a loving pet owner. She was much loved and will be greatly missed. 

         The family would like to express a special heartfelt thanks to her caregivers from Amedysis Home Health and Southern Comfort Hospice for the loving way they cared for her. She loved them all. 

         Graveside services will be held 11:00 am., Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Magnolia Cemetery with Rev. Edward Robinson officiating. Cope-Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with these arrangements.

         Survivors include her son, Jim (Nancy) Hart and daughter Becky (Jack) O’Neil of Brewton; grandchildren, John (Gina) Hart, Kelly (Jake) Adams, Kelly White, Kasie (Ryan) Elmore, Luke (Stacey) O’Neil, and Jake (Carly) O’Neal; 11 great-grandchildren.

         Serving as pallbearers will be John Hart, Troy Hart, Miller Hart, Jake Adams, Jake O’Neil, and Luke O’Neil.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Hart; parents John and Effie Goodwin; sister Wyolene Livingston and 2 nephews, Andy and Jay Livingston.

         Flowers are welcome but in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Backpack Buddy Ministry 820 Belleville Avenue Brewton, AL 36426 or any charity of one’s choice in honor of Mrs. Jerry Hart.
