Mr. James Clayton Davis, age 78 of Evergreen passed away March 11, 2023 at the Evergreen hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 14th at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home Rev. Jim Griffin and Rev. Neal Butler will officiate. Interment will follow in the Arkadelphia Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby McNeil, Rickey Nobles, Mike Holcomb, John Powell, Dwaine Higdon, and Cedric Abrams. Honorary pallbearers will be Monroe Marshall and Hank Long. Left to cherish his memory, loving wife of 60 years, Edna Davis; sons, Darrell Davis (Sara Anderson) of Evergreen; Jason Davis (Christy) of Greenville; sister, Frances Nobles (Joe Wade) of Evergreen;  grandchildren, Tyler Davis, Nicholas Davis (Destinee), Andrew Davis, and Makenna Davis; great grandchild, Brantley Davis. He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Varner and brother, Matthew Davis Jr.

Mr. Davis retired from the City of Evergreen as City Manager he was an active member of Bowers Baptist Church and an avid hunter and fisherman.
