Mrs. Hazel Marie Riley Anderson of Evergreen passed away July 2, 2026. She was 91.

Hazel was a homemaker all her life and worked briefly at Vanity Fair mills In Her early 20s. She met and married Hubert Leon Anderson Sr. In 1961 and they traveled the world as he was in the United States army. 
She was a lover of flowers and had the most beautiful flowers and gardens anywhere. She loved to cook and always had a meal for anyone who came by. She quilted and sewed up until 2 years prior to her death. She made a quilt for each of her nieces and nephews except a couple when she became unable to sew, and that nearly killed her she didnt get them all made.
She loved her family and that was her whole life. 
She was a Christian woman and was a faithful member of New Haven Church of Christ from the age of 17 until her death. She loved and lived a simple, private life..

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm., Monday, July 6, 2026 at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jack Cates officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Old Texas, AL with James Riley Officiating.

 
Survivors include, son, Donny (Christie) Anderson of Evergreen; daughter, Renee (Ron) Culp of Evergreen; sisters, Dorothy Davis of Evergreen and Audrey Anderson of Daphne; Sister-in-law, Jacqueline Riley, grandchildren, William Ashton (Kristen) Culp of Evergreen, Laiken Makayla Culp. of Daphne, Michael Leon Culp, of Evergreen, Ashley Leonah Anderson of Evergreen, and Jesse Enon Anderson and Ruby Carroll of Evergreen; one great grandchild, William Anderson Culp of Evergreen; 4 nieces and 10 nephews.

 
Mrs. Anderson is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert L. Anderson Sr.; parents, Mary Watkins Riley and Jesse Riley; brothers, Clarence Riley and Robert Riley; niece, Lisa Lynn Anderson and nephew, Barry Grant Reynolds.
 
Mrs. Anderson’s nephews will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. Serving as pallbearers, Greg Davis, Stephen Riley, Duane Riley, Clinton Riley, Myron Riley, Tyron Anderson. Honorary pallbearers, Scott Davis, Todd Anderson, Tommy Anderson, and Randall Reynolds.

Special recognition to Sandy Folmer, Dr. Mark Roberts, and Southern care hospice of Evergreen, alabama..especially Alicia Stuckey RN and Brittney McDaniel, all of who cared for her and kept her comfortable in the last few months of her illness.
