Elbert Ray Padgett Obituary

Mr. Elbert Ray Padgett of Evergreen passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at his residence. He was 85.

He loved fishing, working on cars, and watching the Mecum Car Auction on television. He will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on, Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Jones Chapel. Rev. Clifton Morris will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Vance Morris, Alan Morris, Willie Myers, Jefferson Myers, Johnny Hart, Michael Morris, and Corey McCulley. 

The casket will be placed at the family’s residence (269 Alexander Mill Road) Evergreen for the family to receive friends at the home beginning Friday afternoon until time to depart for the cemetery. Cope-Keahey Funeral Home of Evergreen will officiate.

Left to cherish his memory, loving wife of 66 years, Annell Waters Padgett of Evergreen; daughters, Janice Sue (Willie) Myers of Evergreen, Teresa Ann (Allen) Morris of Evergreen, Melissa Ann (Vance) Morris of Evergreen; brothers, James (Betty) Padgett of Camden, AL; Lyndon (Linda) Padgett of Evergreen; grandchildren, Jefferson Myers, Michael Morris, Kelsey (Johnny) Hart; great-grandchildren, Amelia Grace Hart. 

He was preceded in death by a son Micheal Ray Padgett, brother, Lougene Padgett, and his parents, Claude Ray Padgett and Ruby Faye Smith Padgett.
