Betty C. Barron

Mrs. Betty C. Barron passed away peacefully Thursday, August 19, 2021. She was 94.

As a graduate of Evergreen High School Betty maintained a close relationship with her “high school girlfriends.” She retired from Regions Bank in 1998. She was an excellent cook; her signature dish was cheesecake. A lover of country music, she enjoyed attending music concerts, especially to watch Keith Urban. She kept her yard in immaculate condition and enjoyed gardening. Of all her enjoyments in life, spending time with her family was her most treasured times. Mrs. Betty was well loved and will be missed dearly.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty C. Barron will be held 10:30 am., Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Evergreen Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Whittington will officiate. A private burial will take place at Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive from 10:00 am., until time of services at the church. Cope-Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with these arrangements. 

Survivors include her, son, John E. Barron of Red Level, daughter, Nancy Hart (Jim) of Brewton, sister, Phyllis Johnson of Evergreen, grandchildren, John Hart (Gina), Kelly Hart Adams (Jake) and Jason Barron (Erika), 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be, John Hart, Jake Adams, Jason Barron, Bobby Johnson, Terry Peacock and Dr. Russ Cunningham.

Honorary pallbearers will be, Nathan Wright, Todd Atkins, and Jeff Hammonds.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice in memory of Mrs. Betty C. Barron.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John L. Barron, parents Charles R. Cunningham and Nancy Kelly Cunningham, brother, Jack R. Cunningham, and sister, Mary Johnson
