Vivian Louise Booker Crysell was born in Pete and Edna Booker’s house on Murder Creek, Monroe County, Alabama on March 23, 1938. She grew up in Midway and Mobile, Alabama.  Vivian graduated high school from Beatrice High School in 1956. She was baptized as a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as a child and remained faithful in her dedication and service to Our Heavenly Father until the end. Vivian has blessed many people with her beautiful voice over the years. She loved singing and encouraging others to develop their talent. Reading was a passion for Vivian. She wanted everyone to know how to, and to enjoy reading. She volunteered and substitute taught in public schools for many years. In 1982 she went back to finish her bachelor’s degree in elementary education with an emphasis in reading from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. This afforded her even greater opportunities to help others learn to read. Her last volunteer position was President of the Monroe County Literacy Council where she helped numerous adults learn to read.  Vivian has always had a soft spot in her heart for children. Through the years she helped with Sunday school in various places, vacation church schools, summer church camps, reunions and children’s choirs.

She is survived by her husband Donald of almost 56 years, her daughter Lorrie (Mark)Look and granddaughter Lucy Lankford of Independence, Missouri.  She is also survived by 2 brothers: Winford Cobb of Midway and Joel (Wanda)Cobb of Old Texas. She leaves behind 5 sisters: Joan(Mike) Booker Sellers of Georgiana, Sandra Booker of Brewton, Betty Jo(James)Cobb Lee of Repton, Mary Lee(Jerry)Cobb Poss of Atlanta and Kathryn Cobb of Midway. She has numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces whom she loved dearly.

Vivian was preceded in death by her father, Vivian Randolph Booker, her mother Josephine Raines Cobb, her son Donnie, 2 brothers Julius Booker and George Lee Cobb, 1 sister, Patricia Booker Gilmore.
