Melba Jean Franklin of Seale, Alabama passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019. She was 77. A graveside service will be held on July 28, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Bellville Baptist Church. Cope-Keahey Funeral Home will in charge of these arrangements.

Melba was born April 22, 1942, to Beader Lee Smith and Mamie Inez Cocker Smith in Repton, Alabama. She retired from International Paper Company. She is preceded in death by brothers, Howard, Hurley, Edward, Vernon, and Lavon; sisters, Elizabeth, Jeanette, Thelma, and an infant sister.

Survivers include her daughter, Denise Franklin White (Guy) of Seale, Alabama; two sons, Kevin Lee Franklin (Stephanie) of Pensacola, Florida and Darwin Franklin (Tina) of Milton, Florida; Seven grandchildren; Three great-grandchildren; many devoted friends; numerous nieces and nephews.
