Mrs. Essie Mae Stinson of Evergreen died peacefully in the Evergreen Nursing Home Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the age of 99.
Mrs. Stinson was born in Fishpond, Alabama in 1919 to Mr. and Mrs. B.L. Aycock.She was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church. Mrs. Stinson received her education in the Conecuh County Schools. She and her husband Ralph co-owned and operated The Country Store and Stinson Petroleum for 40 plus years. She was an avid sports fan and loved to read and cook. Her family always came first.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Cope Keahey Chapel with Rev. Bill Messer officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Cope Keahey Chapel.
Survivors include sons, Edward Timothy (Mary) Stinson of Brentwood TN., Ralph Leon (Ellen) Stinson of Laurel MS.; daughter, Mary Stinson (Jimmy) Bell of Evergreen; Son-in-Law: Ben Roland Ray Sr. of Birmingham; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stinson is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Leon Stinson Sr., daughter Jessie Melaine Ray and sister Jessie Faust.
Pallbearers include her grandsons William Lyle Bell, William Gilchrist Stinson, McLean Timothy Stinson, Sam William Stinson, Ralph Leon Stinson III, Ben Roland Ray, and Ryan Larkin Ray.
