Barbara Spearman Johnston of Spanish Fort, formerly of Evergreen, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024. She was 89.
Funeral Services will be held 11 am., Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mike Stacey will officiate. Jonathan Griggs will provide special music. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cope-Keahey Funeral Home will be directing.
Survivors include, daughters, Susan Bauman (Gerry) of Fairhope and Cathy Johnston (Kelly Stevens) of Jay, FL; sister, Margie Spearman Etheridge of Red Level; grandchildren, Stephen Thomas Garrett (Salena), Jason Edward Garrett and Brian James Garrett (Gena); great grandchildren, Sarah Garrett Buettel (Conner), Savannah Garrett, Richard Parker, Alex Parker and Alexis Garrett; great-great grandchild, Lyla Buettel and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Johnston is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ethel Spearman; husband, Wayne Edward Johnston; brothers, Jack Ray Spearman, Richard Franklin Spearman, Kenneth Carl Spearman and great grandchild, Jaxon Garrett.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Al Etheridge, Gerry Bauman, Donnie Griggs, Jim Spearman, Justin Griggs and Jonathan Griggs.
The family is accepting flowers or memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the American Cancer Society.
