Mary Lou Padgett

Mrs. Mary Lou Padgett, age 78 of Evergreen went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 31, 2016 in a Mobile hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Jones Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Aaron will officiate. Debbie Butts will provide special music. Interment will follow in the Saints Church Cemetery with Cope-Keahey Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Jones Chapel or to the Flat Rock Fire Dept., both addresses the same, P.O. Box 661, Evergreen, Alabama 36401.

Mrs. Padgett was born June 8, 1938 to the late William Miller and Kathleen Pittman. She has resided in Conecuh County all her life.

She was a member of the First United Methodist of Evergreen. In recent years, she attended Jones Chapel near her home. She retired as the office manager from their family’s business, the Aubrey Padgett’s Garage.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 61 years, Aubrey Padgett of Evergreen; son, Rodney Allen Padgett of Evergreen; daughter, Audrey Kaye (Tommy) Hall of Evergreen; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Joel Dean Padgett and a daughter, Mary Nadine Leach.
