Mabry L. Covin

Mr. Mabry L. Covin age 82, of Evergreen passed away Friday, January 12, 2018.

Mr. Covin was a disabled Navy Veteran. He was an active member of Bower Memorial Baptist Church and served as Chairman of the Deacons there.  Mr. Covin was very active in his community up until his death.  He was President of the Lyeffion Quarterback club , Chairman of the Lyeffion water system and President of the Lyeffion Saddle Club.  The Lyeffion football field is named in his honor.  He was also a well known cattleman and farmer and was very active in the Conecuh County Extension Club and the FFA.  He was also very well known for reaching out to help those in need in his community.  

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Cope Keahey Chapel with Rev. Wayne McMillian officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until time of service. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.

Survivors include his loving wife Sylvia Morris Covin of Evergreen; sons: Glen (Crystal) Gary of Evergreen, Wade Conway of Evergreen; daughters: Wendy (Daryl) Knowles of Repton, Angie Morris of Evergreen; brother: Elbert Danny (Elaine) Covin of Evergreen; sister Jemmie Faye (Hyram) Beesley of Evergreen; grandchildren: Justin (Kristin) Gary, Tyler Knowles, Ty McFerrin, Carmen Knowles, Hannah McFerrin, Gracie Gary, Cole Gary, Ryan Edwards, Cassie Gary and great grandchild Garrison Gary.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
