Mr. Lawrence Ray Ward of Evergreen passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Evergreen Hospital. He was 68.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, February 19, 2018 at Evergreen Church of Christ. Brother Mike Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery with Cope-Keahey Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday at “The Chapel at Magnolia”, 14660 Hwy. 84 West, (on the Ward Family property) in Evergreen.
Survivors include his father, William W. Ward of Evergreen; Sister and brother-in-law, Debra Ward-McIntyre and Keith McIntyre of Evergreen; Brothers and sisters-in-law, William J. (Sylvia J.) Ward of Evergreen; Robert N. (Amelia) Ward of Evergreen; Charles (Ramona) Ward of Evergreen and life long girlfriend Diane Piro of New York, NY; nieces and nephews, Melinda K. Ward, Melissa N. Ward Christina A. Nash, Roderick K, McIntyre, Jr., John Joseph Nash III, Charles M. Ward Jr., Robert N. Ward II, Andrea Ward Lemmond, William J. Ward II, Walter N. Ward, William McIntyre, Jadyn McIntyre, Carleigh McIntyre, Roderick k. McIntyre III, Jack Olgatree, Madeline Ward, Clay Ward, Jonathan Ward, Clark Ward and Jax Lemmond.
Pallbearers Donnie Ray Andrews, Gerald Stuckey, Randy Tolin, Dennis Stallworth, John Thornley, John Wilkerson and Miles Covin.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lucille Pinkerton Ward in 2010. Mr. Ward was also preceded in death by nephew Seth Ward McIntyre. Mr. Ward was a 1968 graduate of Evergreen High School and earned a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama. He moved to Manhattan, New York upon graduating college and remained there until retirement
