Arthur Lee Raines

Mr. Arthur Lee Raines age, 94 of Evergreen formally of Eight Mile, AL passed away peacefully Monday, December 12, 2016 in his residence surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm., Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Bill Bodiford will officiate. Interment will follow in the Witherington Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cope-Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his 6 children, Diane (Allen) Hayes of Saraland, Bill Raines of Evergreen, Robert (Kathy) Raines of Saraland, Helen (Danny Raye) Rutledge of Saraland, Russell (Dona) Raines of Satsuma, and Mark (Carolina) Raines of Bogota Columbia. Fifteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Special nephews Tommy Rains and Raymond Salter.

He is a member of Ramah Church of Evergreen, AL. He retired from Scott Paper Company after 38 years. He was a World War II Veteran and a member of Chickasaw Lodge 894 for 63 Years.

Mr. Raines was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Mattie Raines and his wife of 67 years Merle Ellis Raines.

Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Hayes, Garrett Rutledge, Trent Rutledge, Brantley Rutledge, Colin Rutledge, Connor Rutledge, Russ Raines, and Brandon Raines.

Honorary pallbearers, Tommy Raines, Raymond Salter, and Blain Smith.
